Our curriculum focus is on ”Changing Your World”. The group suggested ideas for service activities we could do for and at Stanley. We’re looking for activities that could be done in one week, and some longer projects. The ideas are grouped and posted in the Christian Ed Coordinator’s office bulletin board. Here’s what was suggested–
Cleaning up around the church inside (CE office), (Behind the stage) and out; Cooking lunch, dinner, as a fundraiser or for the congregation, raising money with a car wash , tag sale (Harvest market-type event?) dance contest, karioke night, dance dance revolution event, or food and some entertainment (like Epiphany dinner, but wait awhile?)
Barb H-M asked about Jr High hosting a coffee hour–little enthusiasm for the clean-up, but maybe for the food prep and serve part?
For publicity and entertainment, we could make videos or take pictures as we do these projects to share with the congregation (Okay group, what did I miss? send an email to hauckmah@optonline.net or post a comment)
Here are the guidelines we talked about for this blog.
1) Barb H-M will be posting blog entries, and moderating or editing all blog comments for propriety and to protect identities;
2) This is a public blog which can be viewed by the congregation and whoever else finds it on the internet;
2) When you comment, use only initials, a code name or “Anonymous” is okay.Your email address will not appear on the blog–Look at the comments already posted to see what will appear.
3) No one has to post if they don’t want to. You can just check out what others have posted.
4) Use this blog to share links, ideas, or touch base with others in the group.
5) We will be able to add short movies or photos to the blog if we’d like.
Coming Up–Class Feb 17 is One Room Schoolhouse or you can stay for the service. Next Jr High meeting is Sunday February 24.
